Best of Tea Shopping

When the chance to collaborate with Mariage Frères to select and list their best goods on our blog arises, we are more than pleased to comply with some serious tea tasting. With my beloved friends, we went to a Mariage Frères store to observe and test some of their delicious teas!

When you step in the store, you can immediately observe what the sales personnel wear. They are either dressed in linen suits or in the style of a great hotel concierge. Well, it’s not surprising since we are in the heart of fashion! They are very good at assisting you throughout your time spent within the store. They explained, specified, made us taste and smell the best teas, the smoothest matcha, Earl Gray, Oolong, Darjeeling, and many more of their products. They mentioned that some of the stores have a restaurant area and a tearoom where you can get breakfast, brunch, lunch etc., in which the prices are not exorbitant. Once you are in the store you can customize yourself a tea set. Where teas come with their own items such as teapots of different shapes, colors, and sizes, depending on whatever tea you choose.

During our moment at the store, we have been through a lot of tastes and smells. We have discovered the uncommon teas, the ceremonial teas, the renowned 'Black Canister' classics, the Marco Polo collection that we are all familiar with and many more. The collection at Mariage Frères is vast, which was making the situation a little complicated since its tea selection features over a huge number of blends and most probably includes all the families from the most common flavors to some exclusive and authentic tastes. Among the teas we've tried, the French Breakfast has been our favorite.

If you are a tea lover, you will definitely love Mariage Frères. We are giving our word!

Below, we have prepared a list of the top three iconic teas that are worth to try. Starting with our favorite the French Breakfast – The harmonious blend of superb and exquisite black teas yields a rounded taste of malt and chocolate. The complex flavor is both robust and polished. In the best tradition of the French art of Tea, this is a delightful combination.

Following our degustation, the second place went to a special tea called Heritage Gourmand-Canelé – We enjoyed the light flavor in it. The texture was smooth and silky, and the tastiness gave the aroma of a freshly baked item. As we drank our way through this cup of canelé, we felt like we were drinking a melted Paris-Brest. Which is one of my favorite patisseries in France. If you like tea with sugar, you should try this one. It is sweet, thick, and creamy which makes it delicious that we definitely recommend it! And finally, the most famous Marco Polo Collection – as green tea lovers we have tried the ‘Marco Polo Green Tea’. At first sight the smell got us dizzy, it was very powerful. We enjoyed more the aroma once it has been brewed. It tasted lighter and like a fresh flower! The flavor of green tea is lovely, clean and pure.
